CODE OF CONDUCT

 

TDBL is committed to ensuring that all stakeholders promote a positive and supportive environment for all. Put simply, all stakeholders are expected to act with respect and integrity at all times:

 

Players:

Players are expected to demonstrate a sporting attitude by showing respect to their coach, officials and opponents at all times both on and off court. Aggressive or discriminatory behaviour and/or language will not be tolerated. Players are expected to shake hands with their officials and opponents at the beginning and end of each game.

 

Coaches:

Coaches are expected to be role models at all times; they promote a sporting attitude in their players and focus on development and enjoyment of the game. When emotions run high, as they inevitably will at times, coaches will support their players to recognise and manage them in a healthy way.

 

Officials:

All stakeholders will defer to the authority of the officials; their decisions are final. Abuse or intimidation of officials will not be tolerated. Coaches and spectators will respect the role of the official and support their decisions so as to model respect for authority.

 

Spectators:

The role of a spectator is to offer encouragement and create a positive environment for players. They support the role of the coach by not coaching players from the side-lines. They demonstrate a respectful attitude at all times.

 

Anti-Bullying:

A zero tolerance approach will be taken for any type of bullying behaviour be it physical, verbal or online. Any incidents should be reported to the league officials immediately who will follow policy and procedures to deal with it.

 

TDBL RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE WHAT BEHAVIOUR IS ACCEPTABLE AND WHAT IS NOT. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE CODE OF CONDUCT COULD RESULT IN WARNINGS OR SANCTIONS.
